EMCO supports Capital of Culture site
Leading entrance matting specialists, EMCO, have provided the BT Convention Centre, Liverpool, with one of their superior matting systems. The Centre is part of the ACC site, on the Mersey waterfront, which is also home to the Echo Arena and was opened to celebrate Liverpool receiving the European Capital of Culture title. The convention centre is a meetings facility, with 3 auditoriums, 18 breakout rooms and a 3725m² hall.
EMCO’s matting systems were selected for their overall strength and sustainability. Furthermore, due to the large amount of ceramics within the concourse areas of the centre, a product with high absorbency qualities was crucial. Based on these requirements EMCO’s Ultra heavy duty Marschall 517 S/3R matting was installed. The Marschall range is a hard wearing roll up matting designed to withstand vehicular traffic. It has a rigid aluminium support chassis with underlaid impact sound insulation with a durable, weather resistant, coarse fibre ribbed tread surface.
The Architects for the project were Wilkinson Eyre. The Arena and Tiling Contractor was Hurst Ceilings & Flooring, from Bradford.

EMCO help welcome IKEA to Ireland
Leading entrance matting manufacturer, EMCO, have recently completed installing one of their systems at the first IKEA store to open on the island of Ireland. The new store, located in Belfast adjacent to the George Best Belfast City Airport, required a robust entrance matting system which would withstand a high volume of foot and trolley traffic.
